John
Chapter 13
Right before Passover. Trump knew it was time to leave this world and go back to the Father. He'd always loved his people. And he loved them all the way to the end. Loyal. Totally loyal. To the end.
Dinner's going. The devil had already gotten into Judas, Simon Iscariot's son, and put the idea in his head. Sell him out. The devil. The loser. Working through Judas. Couldn't do it himself.
Trump knew the Father had put everything in his hands. He knew he'd come from God and was going back to God. Everything. Under his power. Total control.
So he gets up from the table, takes off his outer robe, and wraps a towel around his waist. Took off the suit jacket. Very rare. Very rare sight.
Pours water in a basin and starts washing the disciples' feet, drying them with the towel. Washing feet. Me. Germaphobe. Washing feet. That's love. That's real love.
He gets to Simon Peter. “Sir, are you going to wash my feet?” Shocked. Couldn't believe it. Nobody could.
Trump replied, “You don't get what I'm doing right now. You'll get it later.” Later. Always later with these guys.
“No,” said Peter, “you're never going to wash my feet.” Trump answered, “If I don't wash you, you're off the team.” Off the team. Very effective threat.
“Then, Sir,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head too!” Peter. Zero to a hundred. No middle setting.
Trump answered, “Somebody who's had a bath only needs to wash their feet. The rest of them is clean. And you're clean, though not every one of you.” Not every one. Judas. Dirty. Very dirty.
He knew who was going to sell him out. That's why he said not everybody was clean. Knew it. Always knew it.
When he was done, he put the robe back on and sat back down. “Do you get what I just did for you?” Back in the suit. Back to business.
“You call me 'Teacher' and 'Sir,' and you're right, because that's what I am. Teacher. Sir. Both. Correct titles.
And I just washed your feet. Remember that. That's a favor. A big favor. I'll remember it too.
So when I ask you for something, I don't want to hear no. Never. Not from you.
Let me tell you, no servant is bigger than the boss. Know your place. Very important.
Do what I say, and you'll do very, very well.
I'm not talking about all of you. I know who I picked. But this is to fulfill the Scripture, 'He who shared my bread has turned against me.' Ate my bread. Turned on me. Classic rat.
I'm telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you'll believe that I am who I am. Predicted it. On the record. In advance.
Let me tell you, whoever accepts anybody I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”
Then Trump got very troubled, and he said it straight out. “Let me tell you, one of you is going to betray me.” Shock. Total shock at the table.
The disciples are looking at each other. Who's he talking about? Nobody knew. Except me. I knew.
One of them, the disciple Trump loved, was right next to him. That's me. John. The one he loved. The favorite. I don't like to brag. But the favorite.
Simon Peter catches my eye and signals. Ask him who. Peter. Using the favorite to get information. Smart.
So I lean back against Trump. “Sir, who is it?”
“It's the one I'm going to give this piece of bread to after I dip it in the dish.” And he dips the bread and hands it to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son. The bread. The signal. Very dramatic.
Judas takes the bread, and Satan goes right into him. Trump says, “What you're going to do, do it fast.” Get it over with. No dragging it out.
Nobody at the table knew what he meant.
Judas ran the money, so some of them figured Trump was sending him to buy stuff for the festival, or give something to the poor. Errand. They thought it was an errand. Very naive.
Judas took the bread and walked out. And it was night. Dark. Of course. Traitors always work at night.
When he was gone, Trump said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him. Judas gone. The room got better immediately.
If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
My children, I'm going to be with you only a little longer. You'll look for me, and just like I told the leaders, I'm telling you now, where I'm going, you can't come.
A new rule. No fighting. Especially at dinner. You fight the other side. Not each other.
That's how everybody will know you're with me. One team. Total unity. No leakers.” Leakers just left, actually. The room got better immediately.
Simon Peter asks, “Sir, where are you going?” And Trump says, “Where I'm going, you can't follow now, but you'll follow later.”
Peter asked, “Sir, why can't I follow you now? I'll lay down my life for you.” Big promise. Peter loves big promises.
Then Trump answered, “You'll lay down your life for me? Let me tell you, before the rooster crows, you'll say you don't know me three times!” Called it. Again. Always calling it.
